10.29 - Congratulations Ladies
Katherine Connell, Ashley Colston, and Blayne Fink all participated in the girls golf state open this past Monday and Tuesday in Virginia Beach. Under tough conditions the girls played well with Katherine finishing 12th, Ashley 55th, and Blayne 82nd out of a field of 89 ladies.
10.21 - Westfield Wins Golf Title
This past Monday and Tuesday Cosby Junior Kevin Clarke competed in the AAA State Championship at Westlake Country Club near Smith Mountain Lake. The course played extremely long and difficult both days. The first day was extremely cold, 34 degree start, the second day had a cold start, 39 degrees, but warmed up as the day went on. Kevin had some bad breaks the first day, and some rulings that affected his score and play finishing at 86. Kevin was disappointed in his score, but he came out Tuesday ready to play well. He finished the second day with a great score of 78 including three birdies, one on the last hole. His two day score of 164 was good enough for 27th out of a field of 72 competitors, and 6th among the 18 central region competitors.
Kevin had a wonderful season highlighted by setting the 18 and 9 hole school records, and being named Dominion District and Central Region Player of the Year….

10.10 - Meet Regional Player of the Year Kevin Clarke
Girls State Qualifier
Ashley Colston, Katherine Connell, Blayne Fink, and Samantha Garofalo of the Cosby Golf Team competed Monday at Kempsville Greens Municipal Golf Course in Virginia Beach for the oppertunity to play in the Girls State Golf Open in two weeks. Katherine, Ashley, and Blayne all qualified finishing first, fifth, and tenth over all. Katherine was the medalist on the day shooting a personal best 2 under par 68. Her round was one shot off Kevin Clarke's school record of 3 under par. Katherine had a chance to tie the school record, but lipped out on two birdie oppertunities. The girls will return to Kempsville in two weeks for the girls state open.

10.06 - Congratulations Kevin Clarke, Central Region Player of the Year
Kevin Clarke and Josh Foery concluded their participation in the Central Region golf tournament yesterday at Stonehenge golf course. Kevin finished tied for second place overall out of 72 golfers. Kevin will go on to participate in the AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in two weeks.

10.05 - Regional Action
Juniors Kevin Clarke and Josh Foery played very well yesterday at the Central Region golf tournament at Jefferson-Lakeside. Kevin had the second lowest round of the day with a 3 over par 74. That means he beat 70 other golfers on the day. Josh was solid with a 12 over 84. The tournament concludes Tuesday at Stonehenge.

Monacan, Atlee claim district golf titles
09.28 - Congratulations Kevin Clarke & Katherine Connell First Team and Second Team All District respectively. Kevin is also the Dominion District Player of the Year
 The Cosby golf team competed Monday in the dominion district golf tournament out at Hunting Hawk. In a windy day the Titans finished third overall, three shots out of second , and a team placement in the regional tournament. Scoring for the Titans were Juniors Blake Akridge 90, Katherine Connell 89, Josh Foery 76, and Kevin Clarke 74.
Kevin Clarke and Josh Foery both qualified for the regional tournament next Monday and Tuesday as individuals.
A special congratulations goes out to Katherine Connell who was voted second team all-district, and Kevin Clarke was voted first team all-dominion district.
Kevin was also voted the dominion district PLAYER OF THE YEAR.
Good luck Josh and Kevin in regionals.

09.23 - James River 149, Cosby 158, L.C. Bird 161, Patrick Henry 165
The varsity golf team concluded their season be defeating L.C. Bird and Patrick Henry, but falling to James River. Scoring for the Titans were Juniors Kevin Clarke 35, Katherine Connell 39, Josh Foery 42, and Seniors Drew Meenach 42 and Josh Feister 42. Blake Akridge also shot a season best 44. The Titans ended their regular season with a 12-11 overall record. Their 9-5 Dominion District record matched last years record good enough for third place in the district. The Titans will compete in the Dominion District Tournament on Monday September 28th at Hunting Hawk golf club.
09.18 - Better or worse?
The top two scores for the Titan golf team were six strokes better at Stonehenge Thursday than on Wednesday at Salisbury Country Club. Unfortunately the third and fourth scores were higher. The result was a 170 team score good enough for third place on the day. The Titans fell to Monacan 152, and Matoaca 162, but defeated Manchester 191. Scoring for the Titans were Juniors Kevin Clarke 36, Katherine Connell 40, Josh Foery 46, and Senior Ashley Colston 48. The Titans conclude their season at Providence Golf Club on Tuesday as they take on James River and L.C. Bird.
09.17 - Monacan 152, Matoaca 162, Cosby 170, Manchester 191
The Titan golf team fell to Monacan, and Matoaca, yesterday at Stonehenge, but defeated Manchester by 21 strokes. Scoring for the Titans were Juniors Kevin Clarke 36, Katherine Connell 40, Josh Foery 46, and Senior Ashley Colston 48. The Titans conclude their season at Providence Golf Club on Tuesday as they take on James River and L.C. Bird.
Titans Split
The Titan golf team earned a split Wednesday at Salisbury Country Club losing to Midlothian 165-163, and defeating Clover Hill 165-172. Scoring for the Titans were Juniors Josh Foery 40, Kevin Clarke 41, Katherine Connell 41, and Senior Drew Meenach 43. The Titans are in action again Thursday at Stonehenge against district leading Monacan, Matoaca, and Manchester.
09.15 - Cosby 183, Huguenot 233
Titans defeat the Falcons
The Titan golf team cruised to a 50 stroke victory over Huguenot on Tuesday at Brandermill Country Club 183-233. Scoring for the Titans were Kevin Clarke 41, Josh Feister 45, Ryan Boone 48, Blake Akridge and Landon Bechtel 49. The Titans are in action on Wednesday at Salisbury against Clover Hill and Midlothian.

The Titan golf team had a very wet match yesterday losing to James River, but defeating L.C. Bird. Scoring for the Titans were Juniors Kevin Clarke, Katherine Connell, and Josh Foery along with Senior Drew Meenach. Good job Titans
Earlier this summer Kevin Clarke set the 18 hole school record with a 3 under par 69 at Spring Creek golf club. Kevin’s round of 69 is the lowest score by a high school golfer in the Central REGION this year…. Great job Kevin.

Tryouts
- Tryouts will be held on August 3rd and 4th starting time TBD.
- If there is inclement weather on August 3rd or 4th, we will also hold tryouts on the 5th.
- Location: Brandermill County Club
Physicals
- All athletes are required to have a physical to participate.
- Physicals need to be completed on the
VHSL Participation/Parental Consent/Physical examination forms.
- No other forms are accepted for insurance purposes.
- Athletic physicals are being offered at Cosby High school on June 3rd.
- The cost for this physical is $25.

Summer Camps
The following is a list of summer golf camps in the Richmond area:
Colonial Heights Park and Recreation will have lessons at The First Tee of Chesterfield. A session for kids 8-12 will take place May 19-June 9. A session for ages 11-16 will take place June 25-Aug. 13. Cost is $15. (804) 520-9390.
