Congratulations to the Varsity Field Hockey team as they defeated Mills Godwin 2-1 last night in the semi finals of the regional tournament! Goals were scored by Catherine Rogerson and Taylor Johnson!!!! This win not only puts in the regional finals tonight, but it also puts us in the state tournament next week!
The team will play Thomas Dale tonight at 7pm at Clover Hill High School! Please come out and watch your Lady Titans fight for a regional championship!!!!!!
11.04 - Titans Ground Eagles
 The lady Titans secured a berth in the AAA State Field Hockey tournament by defeating Mills Godwin 2-1 this evening. Cosby went down 1-0 about 12 minutes into the first half. The Eagles defense was "swarming" keeping the Titans from mounting much of an attack in the first 30 minutes. At half, with Mills Godwin carrying the edge in play, one had to wonder if this was the end of the winning streak and the end of the season. That feeling was quelled only 4 minutes into the second half when Cosby answered with their first goal. The lady Titans continued to carry the play through out most of the second half, putting a second goal behind the Eagles keeper less than 10 minutes later. Cosby was able to hold off a last "few" minute surge by Godwin late in the game to earn the 2-1 victory. Finals are tomorrow at Clover Hill.

The Lady Titans really ROCK – on the field AND the floor. The Cosby field hockey team will play for the Regional championship today against Godwin at Clover Hill at 5:30, and the Cosby Varsity Cheerleaders will compete at the Siegel Center – Both teams are going for a Regional Championship.

 Expecting a quick 'n easy evening for the first round of the central region playoffs? Well, quick yes, not quite as easy as expected though. A wet field and a cold evening made play slow. The Titans went up by 2 at half, but the Warriors threatened a few times in the second half. The final ended up 3-0. Titans play the winner of the Atlee-Mills Godwin game on Wed at Clover Hill.

Congratulations to the varsity field hockey team as they defeated Manchester 7-0 in the semi finals of the dominion district tournament last night. Goals scored by Catherine Rogerson, April Peterson, Kelsey Powell (all with one goal each), and both Lee McKenna and Taylor Johnson score 2 goals each!
the Lady Titans will play James River in the finals Friday night at 5pm at Clover Hill! We really need as many people there as possible to cheer our Titans to a tournament championship!

 The Lady Titans outplayed their Dominion District rivals from Manchester in every facet of the game and beat them by a touchdown. The Titans will play again Friday night at 5pm in the Tournament Championship game at Clover Hill. They will face the winner of tonights late game between James River & Clover Hill. By virtue of winning the District Championship, the Titans earned an automatic berth to the Central Region tournament which will also be held at Clover Hill week.

Congratulations to the varsity field hockey team as they clinched the Dominion District Title last night by defeating Clover Hill 1-0! The winning goal was scored by Taylor Johnson!
The team finished the regular season with a record of 15 wins and only 1 loss! The team will have an automatic berth to the Central Region Tournament in a couple of weeks! The Dominion District tournament will be next week at Clover Hill. The Titans will play on Tuesday night!

Congratulations to the varsity field hockey team as the defeated Powhatan yesterday 5-0! Goals scored by Lee McKenna, April Peterson, Lindsay Hanks (all with one goal), and Taylor Johnson scored 2 goals! Assists were given by Taylor Johnson, Catherine Rogerson, Erica Bennett, and Kelsey Powell!
The Team will play their last regular season game tomorrow night here at Cosby against Clover Hill! This is our senior night as well as if the varsity team can secure this win they can win the district title!!! It’s important to have as many fans here as possible!

Other outstanding play by Jessie Ward, Becca Moon, Lee Mckenna and Lindsay Hanks! This wins puts us in a first place tie not only in the district, but also in region!!!!!

Congratulations to both the JV and Varsity field hockey teams as they both defeated Midlothian last night! The JV score was 3-0 with goals by Miranda Waits with 2 goals and 8th grader Cailin Dirberto with one goal. Hannah Zuckoff, Taylor Colbert and Emily Mead all played outstanding as well!
The Varsity won 6-0! Goals by Taylor Johnson with 3 goals, Lee McKenna with 2 goals and Kelsey Powell with 1 goal. Becca Moon, Jesse Ward, Dylan Dowdy and Catherine Rogerson are to be commended for their outstanding play!
Both teams travel to Clover Hill Wednesday night!

The JV won 2-1 with both goals scored by Emily Zuckoff and the varsity won 3-0 with one goal scored by Taylor Johnson and the other two by Lauren Miller!  The Lady Titans were dominating the Confederates from Lee Davis this evening in a non-district matchup. Goals were scored by Junior Lauren Miller and Taylor Johnson.

Time: 7:00am-9:00am
Place: Cosby High School (meet on the track).
Physicals: Current physical dated after May 1, 2009 is required. You will NOT be permitted to tryout/participate
without a physical.
Physicals at Cosby: Physicals will be given here at CosbyWednesday, June 3rd at 2:00pm. The cost is $25.00 and checks made out to Cosby HS
Items needed: Current physical, running shoes, cleats, mouth guard, shin guards, stick, water bottle. You will not be allowed to participate without shin guards and a mouth guard!
Conditioning: I know many of you are playing summer field hockey and that’s great! It is imperative that you come to tryouts in shape and ready to go! If you are not already playing or on another conditioning program, there is a summer workout on the Cosby website. Just go to Athletics, Field Hockey and there is an attachment. We will know the first day who is in shape and who isn’t, so don’t be left behind!!!
Camps: Camps are not a requirement, but are very beneficial in helping to develop skill and knowledge levels before tryouts begin. You want to play as much as possible this summer!
You need to come to Cosby High School with a positive attitude, a willingness to work harder than you have ever worked before, and ready to have fun!!!!!
