Dominion District Tournament
Final – Cosby 3, James River 1
Cosby claimed the Dominion District girls’ volleyball title Thursday night by beating James River in four games.

For Cosby, Jessica Melhorn had 13 kills and 16 digs, Morgan Dowdy had nine kills and 19 digs, and Abigayle Holt added 38 assists.

James River’s Carol Pyskowski had 12 kills and five blocks, Grace Jefferson had six kills and 10 digs, and Julia Cushman added 37 assists.

Semifinals
Cosby 3, Clover Hill 1
Abigayle Holt made 32 assists and five digs, an ace and a block as No. 2 Cosby outlasted Clover hill 3-1. Jessica Melhorn totaled 17 kills with an ace and 12 digs for the Ttians, and Sydney Vaile contributed five kills, two aces and a dig.

Lauren Biagioli had 13 digs, four kills and blocked three shots for the Cavaliers. Harper Smith racked up 21 kills, 11 digs, an ace and three blocks and Chelsea Biagioli finished with eight blocked shots, four kills and an assist.

James River 3, Midlothian 0
Julia Cushman made 26 assists, seven digs, two kills, an ace and a block as No. 1 James River beat Midlothian 3-0. Carolyn Barnett totaled 11 kills, four blocks, four digs and an ace for the Rapids. Cassie Stergar contributed eight kills, three blocks, five digs and six aces.

Valerie Carroll made six kills, seven blocks and seven digs for the Trojans.
