Mills Godwin moves to region semifinals

Mills Godwin's Meg Kristofak defeated Cosby's Erin Hickey 6-1, 6-3, and the Eagles cruised past the Titans 5-1 in the Central Region tournament quarterfinals.
Cosby's Anjelica Esteves held off Nicole Parker 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 in No.1 singles to earn the Titans' point.
In another quarterfinal, Lee-Davis held off Prince George 5-3 to advance to the semis. At No. 1 singles, Julia Vilardell defeated the Royals' Elizabeth Walsh 6-3, 6-4, and in No. 5 singles, Lee-Davis' Brittany Manning held off Heather Lewis 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-4).
In No. 2 doubles, Olivia Davis and Angelina Sportelli defeated Prince George's Katy Cash and Cara Lucy 7-6 (8-6), 6-1.
Deep Run defeated Midlothian 5-1 in another quarterfinal, led by Ashley Price and her 6-1, 6-1 victory over Lauren Baxter.
Christine Abbott shut down Logan Meyer 6-0, 6-0 for the Trojans' lone win.
The Wildcats will face Lee-Davis in the semifinals today at 3 p.m. at Mills Godwin.
